DiamondBack Covers are designed for your specific truck model in mind, so there’s no guesswork about whether or not it will fit. DiamondBack also offers three finishes to their aluminum alloy covers: Rugged Black, Smooth Black, and Aluminum. Their models range between $1,799 and $2,399 and most hold 400lbs of weight on top.
Limits of a DiamondBack Cover
DiamondBack Covers feature permanent tie-down cleats which are less flexible and user-friendly than we like. The 2 and 3 panel designs also limit functionality. Perhaps most annoying of all, the deadbolt locks on top of the cover means you won’t be able to easily slide something on top of your cover. No treating it like a flatbed. This also means it’s not a keyless design.
Another thing to keep in mind is that it’s not possible to drive with this cover completely open. Which means it definitely won’t work for pulling your fifth wheel. While one DiamondBack model can hold up to 1,600lbs, this doesn’t give us the confidence that we would have with a stronger truck bed cover.
Another important consideration is that if you add racks to your DiamondBack Cover, you’ll have to drill into it to secure them. Better hope you like them there permanently!
